Year 5 had a fabulous Anglo-Saxon Workshop with Portals to the Past on Monday this week. It was great to see so many children dressed up as Anglo-Saxons for our immersion. Our Anglo-Saxon warrior made the whole day fun and engaging and Year 5 enjoyed how he brought our history topic to life. The children learned through quizzes, games, interactive role play and exploring artifacts. Some even had the opportunity to try on armour and hold weapons. We are looking forward to building on this new learning as we delve deeper into the lives of our ancestors.
You can see some more photos from the day on their class page
Our School Council representatives in KS2 were lucky enough to visit the Houses of Parliament recently, travelling into London by train and tube. They toured the building and even saw a debate in the House of Commons
Pupils enjoying school lunch today were treated to a surprise as the catering team all dressed up for the occasion. We are sure it raised a smile to have lunches served by clowns and an elephant!
On Monday, Year 3 went to the Verulamium Museum for a Roman Market Workshop. They enjoyed dressing like Romans and Celts, investigating the items for sale in the market, and stopping to explore the hypocaust.
