Year 6 trip to PGL, 2022
After a long two years, where we have been unable to take our Year 6 cohort away for a residential trip, 2022 marks the return of the annual visit to PGL; this time in Liddington, Wiltshire. We will update the page throughout the week with news and photos. We hope you have as much fun looking at them as the pupils are having during their stay.... Not all of our pupils have joined the residential trip, but they are also having a great time in St Albans completing their own challenges and activities and learning new skills. You can see some photos of their week below as well.....
Lots of smiling faces amongst our Year 6 cohort as they grow and challenge themselves over the week. We'll add to the gallery as the week progresses and yet more activities take place.

THURSDAY The children have continued to impress both us and themselves with their ability to push themselves and support each other through the activities that they are enjoying. It has been a fabulous last full day. One instructor commented the following:
We’ve had a wonderful week and all the staff have been so proud of all the children
And, of course, Thursday night is DISCO NIGHT!!........
THURSDAY for the Prae Wood gang was spent mostly playing Monopoly (cheaters edition). The team have been really bonding this week and it shows. Before lunch they searched around the school for clues in a scavenger hunt and, in the afternoon, they went to Verulamium park, got an ice-cream and played parachute games, making the most of the glorious sunny weather.
WEDNESDAY kicked off with an early start due to being first on the rota at breakfast; cue lots of bleary eyes, but the children were full of smiles and soon eager to get going! The children are coping amazingly in the warm weather and drinking lots of water. They have all been an absolute credit to our school. They blew us away with their acrobatic prowess on the trapeze and we look forward to another full day of jam-packed activities tomorrow. The children enjoyed reading and sharing their letters from home in the evening.
WEDNESDAY was an equally busy day for the Prae Wood team, who started off the day with a sensory trail in Verulamium. They worked as a team to help each other get through the trail. Afterwards they made brownies in a mug and enjoyed a movie afternoon, with beanbags, popcorn and their brownies.
TUESDAY has been a jam packed day with pupils taking on the vertical challenge, the sensory trail and the giant swing alongside team games. The children have worked really well as a team and already surprised themselves at the challenges they have mastered. The sun is shining brightly and everyone is enjoying the fine weather.
Can you spot your young thrillseeker on the Giant Swing?....
TUESDAY was a busy day for the children in Prae Wood; they planted sunflower seeds into pots in the Y1 quadrangle. Then they spent time in reception as playleaders, engaging with and supporting the younger children. In the afternoon, they heard Year 1 read and helped with their maths lesson! At the end of the day it was games of Just Dance and Charades and making their own vehicles!
MONDAY morning saw this super group of pupils arriving at school and boarding the coach, ready to take them to Liddington for a week of challenges, fun and memory-making. As you can see, they have already thrown themselves into having a great time together..... Everybody settled in and slept well, waking up refreshed and ready for a busy Tuesday.
MONDAY Meanwhile, the pupils who have remained in school have been having fun with Miss Browning making rocky roads, creating their own golf course and sewing!
