School Lunches
Our catering company is ASPENS; we started working with them in January 2022. They specialise in school food and only work in the education sector. Their kitchens provide home-cooked food each day and cater for individual dietary requirements. Their aim is not only to provide food but also to help educate children and raise awareness about nutrition, food and where it comes from, so that they can make informed and mindful choices. Meal pattern options at Prae Wood
If you would like to order a school lunch for your child, or change their existing meal pattern please email the School Office.
We require 2 week's notice, by email, to make any amendments, please email admin@praewood.herts.sch.uk.
The following meal pattern options are available:
- School Lunch 5 days per week OR
- School Lunch on a Thursday only (with a packed lunch from home on the other days) OR
- Packed Lunch 5 days per week
Cost of school meals per day:
Nursery £2.00
Years R - 2 currently receive Universal Free School Meals priced at £2.41
Y3-Y6 £2.50
Please note that Halal meat is not used in any of the meat dishes on the menu

The menu rotates on a three-week basis and refreshes for Autumn/Winter and Spring/ Summer seasons.

Special Diets
Special diets are an integral part of our catering provision, whether as a result of an ethical or religious belief or a food intolerance or allergy. To register this as a requirement please complete and return the special diets form to the school as soon as possible. We operate a NUT FREE kitchen and school therefore no special dietary menu is required if your child has a Nut Allergy.
