The School Day
The School Day
School starts at 8.50am; parents are responsible for their children until the teacher comes onto the playground at 8.40am. Doors are locked at 8.55am, after which pupils are late and must enter the building via the school office, where they must sign the ‘late book’. If your child is going to arrive at school after registration (e.g. medical appointments) and they usually have a school meal, please ring the office by 9.10 to book their meal or send in a packed lunch from home.
School finishes at 3.15pm for Reception & KS1 (Years 1- 2) and 3.25pm for KS2 (Years 3-6). Children in KS1 should be collected from the external doors to their classrooms, where they will be handed over to you by one of the school staff. Parents of KS2 children are requested to wait on the KS2 playground alongside the astroturfed area, which allows class teachers to clearly see the responsible adult and ensure children are collected safely. If anyone other than the usual parent/carer is to collect your child you must inform the class teacher directly in the morning or the school office in an emergency. If you are sending an email please include the name of your child’s class.
If your child is ill and going to be absent please email or telephone the school office (Option 2) stating your child’s name, class and nature of illness, so that it can be recorded in the register.
Nursery (FS1) starts at 9.00am and finishes at 12.00pm, or 9.00am-3:00pm for 30 hours-funded children. Families who do not qualify for 30 hours funded places may book optional extended hours sessions, which offer pick up at 3.00pm. Please contact the school office for more information on how to book your child in for extra sessions, or see Nursery Extended Sessions
