Curriculum Information

Our Prae Wood Curriculum is underpinned by our culture and ethos & our curriculum drivers. Through promoting and creating a diverse curriculum, children experience opportunities that mirror their own culture and offer them windows into the lives of others.

At Prae Wood, children acquire skills that enrich their learning and aid their personal development through an ambitious, knowledge-rich curriculum that is broad and balanced. Their learning journey is built upon prior knowledge through the use of ‘threads’ which are woven throughout the curriculum. We recognise the importance of developing children’s metacognition - therefore, we give children thinking time and opportunities for retrieval practice.

Our curriculum aims to inspire children to want to ‘know more, do more and remember more’, and by the time they reach the end of their learning journey at Prae Wood, our aspiration is that they are prepared to be active citizens in modern Britain and across the world.
